Rekindling the Romance
Ideas for reconnecting with your mate!

Everything requires attention and maintenance. Whether it is your house or marriage, you need to routinely observe its condition, so that you remedy a need before it becomes a major problem. Our modern lifestyles and lack of time can take its toll on a relationship, causing couples to drift apart, both physically and mentally. If you see warning signs, take action. Before situations escalate into something unwanted or unmanageable, look for ways to reconnect with your mate.

Observe: Step back and look at your relationship. You both might be so busy with your professional life, kids or other obligations, that there is no time left for each other. Creatively manage your time and obligations so that you have ample opportunities to reconnect.

Communicate: Communication is the key to a successful relationship. Remember how fun it used to be?Without it, or enough of it, people begin to feel emotionally disconnected from each other. Daily take some time to talk, even if it is as simple as the events of the day.

Start small: Never ignore the power of small gestures, like holding hands and writing notes. Small frequent gestures show affection and that you truly care. Cooking his favorite meal or sending flowers for no reason is always in good taste and can be a great catalyst for improving the space.

Plan something special: Once people get comfortable in a relationship they often relax their 'charm' efforts. So do a little work and plan something that both of you will love. It can be a movie, a date or a visit to your favorite museum or gallery. If you can, then plan a holiday together. Getting a break from the usual routine (especially if it's without the kids) helps many couples reconnect.

Show your appreciation: Being appreciated is a prime need of all human beings, Small gestures help show appreciation.especially from your partner. And it's so easy! Start by appreciating your partner for his/her good qualities. Affirm that how special and capable she is. This is especially important during the hard times in someone's life: a few words of appreciation can do a lot to boost their mood.

You can almost always bring back the lost charm and excitement in your relationship when you start early enough. Rekindling your love and affection may take some effort but the sooner you start, the easier it will be!
