North Conway, NH -
Mount Washington Valley Promotions will host the biennial Valley Ms. Event on Sunday, March 11th at 4:00pm at
M&D Playhouse. Women of all ages will represent their non-profit organization for the chance to win $500 for that charity. They don't have to be single, they don't have to be models - only passionate about their organization! The event alternates annually with the Valley Mr. Event and has been held regularly since 2012.
Contestants are scored 4 ways:
Their ability to answer questions about personal interests and their benefit organization to a panel of judges,
their skill in introducing themselves to judges and attendees and their delivery of a speech detailing the impact of their sponsoring organization upon their lives,
their stage presence in formal attire after speech delivery, and
the number of votes cast by the audience in the form of cash donations into a can specially decorated by the contestant and her organization.
Reigning Mount Washington Valley Mr., Nate Sawyer, will emcee the event. Reigning Mount Washington Valley Ms., Amy-Nicole Smullen, will be on hand to crown her successor. There'll also be entertainment from local performers. It's a fun, collaborative way to support a bunch of local non-profits and get out of the house on a Sunday afternoon in March!
There is a $5.00 admission fee and guests are encouraged to bring a few extra dollars to stuff in Ca$h Cans and/or purchase refreshments.
It's estimated that the event has raised over $10,000 for local charities since its inception. You can follow their
Facebook event page to meet the contestants or donate through their crowd-funding sites. A description of each portion of the judging will also be posted there.
