Popular Weathervane Cabaret Returns To Colebrook Country Club
The pizzazz of the Weathervane Theatre rolls into Colebrook when the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts brings the Weathervane Cabaret back to the Colebrook Country Club on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m.
"Last summer's show was one of the hits of the season," remarked GNWCA President Charlie Jordan. "We're so glad to bring them back as these young, energetic performers prove that there's really no business like show business-providing as they do a great evening of show tunes and more."
Last year's show marked the first Colebrook appearance by the all-new Weathervane Cabaret Company. As Lyn Winter of the Weathervane explains, the Cabaret which was launched last year brings back the tradition of a Weathervane Cabaret troupe which followed shows for many years in Whitefield. "These professional performers go through the same high-level auditions as our mainstage performers and they've allowed us to take the magic of show music on the road," Winter said. "They sing a mix of standards-Gershwin/Sinatra/show music from golden age, love songs and entertainment made popular in the 1930s and '40s."
The performers coming to Colebrook making up the 2017 Cabaret Company are five young professionals-four vocalists and music director. The group is comprised of Alex Michael Albrecht, Meg Ciabotti, Grayson Mills, Taylor Greatbatch and Musical Director Mike Stapleton. They will delight the local audience with the music from the Great White Way and beyond. "Come prepared for a night of music everyone will enjoy," Jordan said. The show is co-sponsored by Dr. Nathan Drum.
Tickets are $15 and available at Fiddleheads, 110 Main St., Colebrook, or at the door on the night of the show. For more information on this and other GNWCA shows, find the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts on Facebook, visit www.gnwca.org or you can call 237-9302 or 246-8998.
